ARE YOU RETIRED OR DO YOU HAVE A JOB WORKING FROM HOME? Are you free to live anywhere you please?  Then consider this:  There is a congregation of the Lord’s Church in Wisconsin that NEEDS YOU.  The town of Wausau, in central Wisconsin has a small town atmosphere with all the conveniences of a big city.  The area has forests and lakes for camping, fishing and hunting plus beautiful scenery showing off God’s wonderful creation.  If this sounds to you like a good place to live, we would love to give you more information about our town and our Church.


Before we tell you what we need, we would like to tell you what we have. 


  • We have a congregation of about 25 members ranging in age from 9 months to 90 years old. We have a part-time minister who also has a full-time job. We have a building that is paid for and we are debt free and able to pay our expenses.
  • Almost all of our members are life-long members of the Church, and many are 2nd and 3rd generations of the Church of Christ.
  • You may be wondering, why this outreach? What do you need from me?  Our congregation was started in 1955 with a small group of Christians gathered in a rented room above a bar. For years we have tried to grow the church in this area, and at one time had 90 members with 3 elders and 2 deacons. Over the last 18 years we have baptized 36 people only to have them move away or fall away.  This is a mission field with 55 Churches of Christ in the entire state. Most congregations are less than fifty people and are far apart. 
  • We have noticed that enthusiasm for the Lord’s word has diminished these days and people are drawn to large congregations with programs that “serve their needs.” Some of us are fortunate enough to travel south, where we see large congregations sometimes struggling to maintain their membership also. But we also see members with talents and the will to serve who may not get opportunities in large churches. Your talents will be used here with us!
  • If you are one of those people or families who would like to be useful and needed, you can be useful to us! We need your talent, your enthusiasm, your encouragement and yes, your physical in-person self in Wausau. And we’re not ashamed to shout it from the roof tops. COME TO WISCONSIN! WISCONSIN NEEDS YOU! WISCONSIN LOVES YOU! WISCONSIN WELCOMES YOU!​
